About this role

As a QA engineer at Expercast, you will join an exceptionally smart team of engineers building products that are designed, ultimately, to provide broad access to high-quality education across the world. You will create test plans for new user stories, verify the developers’ implementation of new features, and investigate issues reported by users. You will conduct exploratory, sanity, and regression tests for our mobile apps, web app, and browser plugin. And, besides conducting manual tests, you will help us advance our automated testing. As part of your work, you will work closely not only with our other QA engineers, but also with our Development and Product teams.

In case you don’t have much experience yet, your career with us will start with a “bootcamp” under the guidance of our QA leader, designed to get you up to speed quickly. In parallel to the bootcamp, you will already start working on our products. You will also receive ample coaching, and your more experienced team members will be delighted to answer any questions you may have along the way. As a result, you will quickly grow into an increasingly mature QA engineer.

What we are looking for

Our philosophy here at Expercast is to hire for exceptional intrinsics, and trust that, thanks to our collaborative and learning-oriented culture, you will be able to quickly fill any potential gaps in your technical expertise on the job. This is especially true for junior candidates. 

For more senior candidates, we expect a strong understanding of testing concepts and methodologies, experience with JavaScript, and experience with REST API testing (Postman, Swagger) as well as Gherkin tests. It will be a plus if you have prior development experience (e.g., via pet projects), experience in testing mobile apps (ideally, React Native), and experience in JavaScript test automation. 

As for language requirements, we expect upper-intermediate English skills. In fact, our assessment process will be conducted entirely in English. Don’t worry, however, if your English isn’t perfect yet: We will help you improve it on the job.
